If you are part of a large network or you simply want to "hide" your computer from people browsing the network there is a simple way to do that. Click on Start --> Run --> type in "cmd" and press OK. You should be seeing the command prompt. Now type in "net config server /hidden:YES ". Restart Windows. Now your computer will not be seen by please browsing the network but it will still be accessible by IP or by name.
